Prof. S. Satyanarayana has over two decades of experience in education administration. He started his career as Assistant Professor in 1983 and became Professor in 1998. He was appointed as NSS Program Officer in Osmania University in 1983 and was also the Joint Director of Academic Audit Cell, Osmania University (2000-2002).

In 2002 he assumed the charge of Director of Admissions. He was appointed as Principal of Nizam College (OU) 2006-2009. He was appointed as Registrar of RGUKT during the period 2009-2011 and was appointed as Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University for the period 2011 to 2014 and was holding additional charge as Vice-Chancellor for JNTU (H), JNTU (A) & Rayalaseema University.

He continued his thrust for research and worked as Post-Doctoral fellow in University of Texas, University of Mississippi and UMMC Jackson and then joined in Osmania University as a faculty member. He has abundant enthusiasm and interest in research which enabled him to guide several students and published several papers in both National & International journals. In recognition to his contribution, he was awarded BSR Faculty Fellowship in 2014 by UGC, and he became Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry (London) and Fellow of TS Academy of Sciences.

Prof Satyanarayana was the second Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies, Basar and met the challenges of building the young University into a model for quality Engineering and met the challenges of building this new University into a model for quality Engineering education and helped in realizing the University and its dream, despite it challenging and unparalleled annual intake of 1000 students, through several innovations, raising of quality faculty and by creating world class laboratories.

Prof Satyanarayana is a complete academician with a flair for research and extension. He is also an able Administrator who brought dignity to the chair he occupied.
